The Flaming Lips announce their plan to one-up Jay-Z
5/23/2012Jay-Z might want to add The Flaming Lips to his list of 99 problems. The quirky rockers from Oklahoma have announced plans to break Jay-Z's Guinness World Record for the most live concerts in multiple cities in 24 hours. The band has a packed agenda for June 27, starting with a show in Memphis and ending seven cities later in New Orleans. If they're successful, their eight shows would best Jay-Z's seven. "I've accepted the attempt at breaking the world record," lead Lip Wayne Coyne said. "To play and sing Flaming Lips songs at 8:00 in the morning ... Well ... I'm open to new experiences." The potential Guinness-worthy stunt will be part of the annual O Music Awards.
