'Doctor Sleep,' the sequel to 'The Shining,' is only a year away

9/19/2012

If you read "The Shining" when it was published back in 1977, or if you saw the famous movie with Jack Nicholson in 1980, or the creepy mini-series in 1997, then you know the scariest Stephen King novel and therefore one of the scariest stories ever. Now its long, long, long, awaited sequel "Doctor Sleep" has gotten a release date — Sept. 24, 2013. Apparently the sequel picks up when Danny Torrance, the little boy who has "the shining" from the original, is an adult hospice worker who "runs afoul of a gang of wandering psychic vampires." Wait, what? Psychic vampires?! We'll trust you Stephen King. We’ll read it — just please, please don't mess up "The Shining." [Source]
