They were kidding, but a group of New Orleans-area scientists aren't when they say that chocolate toothpaste could be the best thing for your teeth. Theobromine, a chemical found in chocolate, has been proven to "strengthen teeth and regenerate enamel," and has become the basis for the active ingredient in a new toothpaste called Theodent. And, yes, it does come in a (kind of gross sounding) chocolate flavor. "Fluoride has been the gold standard in oral care for 100 years," Dr. Arman Sadeghpour said.
