There's still time to enter this 'Jerk-Off' contest

This weekend, Kalamazoo, Michigan will host a"Jerk-Off" contest and -- wait ... what? No! We're talking about Caribbean-style cuisine, obviously. Food vendors at the city's 17th Annual Island Fest will each have two hours to prepare their best jerk chicken and an "island" side dish. The provocatively-named cooking competition is just one of the events featured during IslandFest, a three-night steel drum-and-dreadlock-filled reggae celebration. Although the festival's website does have an informative FAQ section, they don't address one of the more pressing questions about the cooking portion.
