This is what the inside of Apple's iPad factory looks like

4/13/2012

After all the rumors and lies about what conditions were like at the Foxconn factory where Apple's iPads are assembled, a new video shows what life is really like for the nearly 250,000 workers Foxconn employs. Marketplace's Rob Schmitz, who exposed a false account of conditions at the factory, traveled to the Shenzhen factory, and while it's true some workers make only about $14 a day, no children or men with mangled hands were seen assembling the in-demand devices. Schmitz reports Foxconn has invested in perks like athletic fields for its workers and pays them on time. However, workers do complain of being treated unfairly by supervisors and call the work "incredibly boring and repetitive."
