Divorce attorney has affair with client, bills her for sex
1/18/2013Thomas Lowe took attorney-client privilege to debased new lows. The Minnesota divorce attorney struck up an affair with a client in September 2011, breaking things off in March 2012 — at which time the distraught woman allegedly attempted suicide and copped to the whole affair while hospitalized. That was bad enough, but the revelation that Lowe billed the woman for, ahem, his services marks the whole sordid affair as more exploitative than erotic. Lowe reportedly billed the woman for their liaisons, coding the encounters as meetings or drafting memos. Last week, the Minnesota Supreme Court suspended the lawyer indefinitely. [Source]
