Thousands of dollars fall from the sky in Seattle
7/5/2012In these tough economic times most people are desperately trying not to throw money away. Not one group of activists in Seattle, Wash., however. Money doesn't grow on trees, but it did fall from the sky yesterday when protestors threw $5,000 in $1 and $5 bills from the roof of a downtown building to protest against the pesky way that money can influence politics. Each note was inscribed with the message "money as speech silences us all," with the intention that people collect the cash, spend it and the message remains in circulation. It's not the first time they've staged such a pricy stunt. Back in February they threw $500 from the roof of a parking garage. Maybe it's time to move to Seattle...
