Thousands swallow live fish hoping it will cure asthma
6/9/2012Picture this: Tens of thousands of people mobbing a stadium in order to shove live fish down their throats. That's what happened in Hyderabad, India, today where a huge crowd gathered to swallow free, live murrel fish, treated with a secret herbal formula, in hopes that doing so would cure their asthma. The practice is criticized by doctors and (obviously) far-removed from any kind of traditional medicine. We're not sure what's more surprising: That this "cure" still exists in the year 2012 or that 70,000 people showed up to get it.
