Amazing bricklaying machine is great news for everyone but bricklayers
2/12/2013Will the world suddenly see an explosion of charming brick roads, instead of all that concrete and asphalt that renders towns and villages far less quaint? A bricklaying breakthrough could make that a reality! A Dutch company makes a machine called the Tiger-Stone, which lays bricks in perfect formation, using a gravity-based system, at lightning speed. While the average bricklayer can lay only about 90 to 120 square yards of new road a day, the Tiger-Stone, an electrically powered machine as wide as a road, can lay 478 square yards per day. Just tamp it down and the road is good to go. Which sounds very cool, unless you happen to be a bricklayer. [Source]
