228 patrons buy coffee for each other in Tim Hortons chain of kindness
1/3/2013Let's hope some of this holiday spirit carries far into 2013. Customers at a Tim Hortons cafe in Winnipeg, Canada, started a pay-it-forward chain that lasted a staggering three hours, with 228 customers ultimately paying for the next person in line. Employees got into the spirit, shouting out the climbing tally and encouraging patrons to extend the chain: "It was a boost of goodness, especially with everything happening in the world," a company spokesperson said. Good work, 228 pay-it-forwarders -- but what went wrong, Mr. 229? [Source]
