Homeless cowboy dies unaware he could be $19 million richer

12/31/2012

A legal challenge over a $306.5 million copper mining fortune could have made homeless cowboy Timothy Henry Gray a multimillionaire had he not passed away under a bridge on a cold night in Evanston, Wyo. When New York heiress Huguette Clark died last year aged 104, she made no provisions for family members in her will, instead leaving much of her estate to charities. If her family's claim on the fortune is successful, Gray, Clark's half great-nephew, would have stood to inherit 6.25 percent (around $19 million). But Gray had no idea of the prospective windfall as efforts to locate him failed. [Source]
