Tina Fey and Amy Poehler don't pull punches in Golden Globes opener

1/14/2013

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey didn’t hold anything back in their opening speech at the Golden Globes. After slamming former host Ricky Gervais, Poehler and Fey let loose with some of the harshest — and most hilarious — slams in awards show history. Fey cut down a former Oscar host, telling Anne Hathaway that Fantine in "Les Miserables" was the most alone she had seen someone since Hathaway co-hosted the Oscars with James Franco. Hathaway hid her face after that remark, unable to stop laughing. And it got better. Poehler unquestionably scored the hardest dig and biggest audience gasp of all, praising "Zero Dark Thirty" director Kathryn Bigelow by saying, "When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron."
