Hug a lefty! It's International Left-Handers' Day8/13/2012
Hoist some strange-looking scissors aloft and toast your favorite lefty today. Don’t get lefty behind! It’s International Left-Handers’ Day. Launched on August 13, 1992, by a group of British southpaws who wanted to make sure their sinister ways were given their due, this lefty-lauding holiday is now celebrated around the world. The U.K.-based Left-Handers Club has marked the occasion with “left-v-right sports matches, a left-handed tea party, pubs using left-handed corkscrews where patrons drank and played pub games with the left hand only, and nationwide ‘Lefty Zones,’” in which righties can awkwardly try out lefty gear. San Francisco store Lefty’s is offering prizes on its Facebook page. We figured it was only right to let you know. [Source]
