World’s first toilet theme park & museum in Suwon, South Korea (Seoul Navi, http://aka.ms/ToiletPark)

'Toilet theme park' flush with crappy attractions

7/4/2012

Thinking of heading to Six Flags again this summer? Maybe you should try something different — really different — like, um, the "world's first toilet theme park." Curious? Get thee to Suwon (outside of Seoul, South Korea) to visit the brand spankin' new public park and museum. Why the bizarre theme? Well, the city has been a pioneer of sorts in the world of Korean toilets. The former mayor of Suwon was even nicknamed Mr. Toilet — he had supposedly been born in the loo of his mother's parents' house. He also built the world's only toilet-shaped house (?!), founded the World Toilet Association, and campaigned to clean up crappers. The new park features something for the whole family: ancient Korean flush toilets, Roman-style ones, European bedpans and fun facts about poop. Step aside, Mickey.
