Tom Cruise, Scientologists allegedly auditioned possible wives

If you’re on Team Katie — like most adult humans who aren’t insane or Scientologists — you were probably psyched when Holmes surprise-divorced Tom Cruise. And Holmes’ decision seems even wiser given this rumor: In an upcoming cover story for Vanity Fair, journalist Maureen Orth reports on the alleged "audition process" that led Cruise to court Holmes. The mission to find Cruise a woman reportedly was led by Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology head David Miscavige, and the original top choice for the, uh, starring role was actress Nazanin Boniadi, who dated Cruise from November 2004 to January 2005 before being dumped — by a Scientology Celebrity Center rep, no less — for displeasing her man one too many times. [Source]
