A hoax 911 call was placed telling authorities that an armed robbery was taking place at Cruise's Beverly Hills home. When police arrived, they discovered … nothing at all. The calls are referred to as "swatting" because the goal is reportedly to get as many police as possible to respond to a situation, including SWAT teams. It truly is a sport for people with too much time on their hands. Similar calls have been made to the homes of celebs including Miley Cyrus, Simon Cowell, Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher.
