Frequent flier tops 1 million miles, eats lots of bad plane food

12/20/2012

Like George Clooney's character in "Up in the Air," automotive sales consultant Tom Stuker has flown a ridiculous number of miles and been rewarded for it, but he doesn't seem that bothered by the fuss now that he's reached his goal. Stuker flew 1 million miles in 2012, and boy, are his arms tired (sorry). He's one of the world's most frequent fliers, clocking so many miles with United Airlines that it named one of its Boeing 747s after him and made him a member of its invitation-only Global Services program, which offers "certain unpublished benefits." Maybe that includes lots of glamorous James Bond-type perks, but it's probably more like extra pretzels and a ride to the airport. [Source]
