Watching this blind skateboarder will amaze and inspire you

2/5/2013

Tommy Carroll is completely blind, but he executes ollies and skates ramps whenever he gets the urge. A late diagnosis of cancer of the retinas, or bi-lateral retinoblastoma, left Tommy blind at age 2 — in fact, his eyes are prosthetics. Tommy started skating in third grade, and two years ago skating legend Tony Hawk visited Tommy on his home turf in Glenview, Ill. Tommy's now studying at Northwestern University and says people were constantly telling him: "You're going to kill yourself. Blind people can't skateboard." Boy, does he prove them wrong. So far the worst he's done is chip a tooth — and the best is to inspire us all. [Source]
