Tony Hawk defends helmet-free ride with 4-year-old kid

Tony Hawk can land his trademark 900 skateboard move without breaking a sweat, but an Instagram photo he posted Monday didn't land too well with parents. In it, the skateboard king cruises the concrete in his 5,000-square-foot backyard skate park dangling his barefoot, helmetless (smiling) 4-year-old daughter, Kadence Clover, by her arms. "Crash, split, blood! Put a helmet on her, moron!" wrote one follower. In response, the unrepentant Birdman let fly with another picture of his helmet-free ride with Kadence, writing, "For those that say I endanger my child: it's more likely that you will fall while walking on the sidewalk than I will while skating with my daughter."
