One wrong move turns NASCAR race into massive, smoking 25-car pileup
10/8/2012Forget about placing — for drivers racing at the Talladega Super Speedway in Alabama over the weekend, most were happy just to finish without a ton of damage to their cars. During lap 189, leader Tony Stewart saw his position challenged and moved to make a block. Big mistake. Instead of protecting his lead, Stewart set off a 25-car crash that completely wiped out most of the field, turning the track into a smoking junkyard of wrecks. Fortunately, despite the carnage, no one was injured, and after some time back in the shop, everyone will be back and providing us with all the awesome crash … er, racing action we can handle.
