NASCAR winner visits injured fans in hospital after horrific crash

2/26/2013

It turns out being a wild and crazy race car driver doesn't preclude you from having a heart. Word has leaked that NASCAR driver Tony Stewart snuck over to Halifax Health Medical Center on Sunday night to visit several fans injured in Saturday's horrific crash at the Daytona International Speedway. Stewart, who won the Nationwide Series race but declined a victory speech because of the accident, reportedly didn't want to be acknowledged for the visit, in which he met individually with patients and handed out autographed caps. But since the news got out, fans have widely praised the three-time champ, who said he could see the horror go down in his rearview mirror as he sped toward the finish line. [Source]
