Trent Richardson takes teen cancer survivor to prom

Here's a heartwarming story to start your week -- football star Trent Richardson made a teenage cancer survivor's dream come true by accepting her invitation to senior prom. The athlete donned his finest white tux to accompany 17-year-old Courtney Alvis to the Hueytown High School, Ala. event, says WBRC-TV. Courtney was previously diagnosed with leukemia and currently undergoes chemo maintenance sessions. She hadn't been sure she even wanted to go to prom until her knight in shining armor arrived in the form of Richardson, who she was put in touch with via her uncle and his friends. And it seems like it was a special night for both of them since Richardson never got to attend his own prom.
