Health care employees who won't take the needle get the ax
11/24/2012Creamed corn out of the can wasn't the worst thing on the Thanksgiving table for some employees of TriHealth, a health concern that operates hospitals and doctors' groups in Cincinnati. The 150 workers received termination notices on their way out the door for the holiday for failure to get flu shots the company requires for its 10,800 employees. Other than the initial prick, the condition seemed pretty painless: the shots were free and had been available since Oct. 1. Now the dismissed workers can appeal for reinstatement, as long as they face the needle by Dec. 3. Remember, folks, it's even less fun to be unemployed when you're sick. [Source]
