Australians find $20 trillion oil reserve in their big backyard
1/24/2013We may be the land of the free and the home of the brave, but if it's oil you're after, Australia's the place to be. Linc Energy has discovered an outback oil basin estimated to contain a globe-warming reserve of up to 233 billion barrels. Media reports have suggested that the astonishing find is worth around $20 trillion. The company involved has said it's too early to put any kind of value on the shale oil bonanza, but it seems certain that while the rest of us are peddling our V-8s Flintstones-style, the Aussies will be doing just fine. We should probably invade. [Source]
