Triple amputee vet finishes hardcore race to honor fellow soldiers

8/31/2012

It took Marine Corporal Todd Love just over five hours to complete the 10.5 mile Super Spartan race on a course studded with over 75 obstacles. That's badass by itself, but Love takes it to an entirely new level of hardcore: The 22-year-old veteran is a triple amputee, losing both legs and his left arm to a landmine in Afghanistan. This is a man so hardcore he wrestles alligators in his free time. Love was part of Team X-T.R.E.M.E. who competed in honor of wounded veterans and — on top of everything else — they wore gas masks that restricted their breathing for the entire race. According to Team X-T.R.E.M.E., which is also a nonprofit organization, "We don the mask to represent and honor the sacrifice of our nation's heroes."  Wow. Just …wow. [Source]
