Map of 'good morning,' 'f**k you' tweets shows where the jerks live

8/19/2012

Much like the earlier "Beer vs. Church" edition, a map that mines Twitter to track geographical trends has found large discrepancies in typical tweets from region to region. In one particularly fascinating reflection of society, people from Georgia were found to adore the phrase "Good Morning," while their counterparts in the north, such as, say, in New Jersey, were more drawn to the all-encompassing "F-ck You." The Vertalab map is set up to track how the different phrases progress throughout the day, so you can plug in your own equations and see which hours, for instance, are most prone to bring out the a-hole in folks. We're going to say Monday morning around 7:30 a.m. Just a guess. [Source]
