Ukraine said to be training dolphins with guns on their heads

The use of dolphins for military purposes is nothing new. But Ukraine is taking dolphin warfare to new flipping heights. Reportedly, the Ukrainian navy recently restarted a training program using dolphins and other animals for a variety of military uses, including mine detection and, in an “Austin Powers”-like scenario (“Sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!”), killing enemy combatants with special pistols and knives fixed to their heads. Really. The killer dolphins are being trained “for counter-combat swimmer tasks in order to defend ships in port and on raids.” Not to worry, America, the world’s only other military dolphin base is in San Diego.
