Unconscious woman rides bus for hours before anyone helps

4/20/2012

Public transportation can sometimes be unpleasant -- annoying passengers, overcrowding, late buses and trains. Still, you would think this cynical pose would fall away when a woman passes out on a bus while covered in her own vomit. Not so, for one unlucky woman on a Los Angeles bus, who was unconscious in her seat with vomit streaming down her chin for an hour-and-a-half as the driver and passengers neglected to call for emergency aid. The driver, instead of dialing 911 immediately, called a dispatcher twice before calling emergency responders. The driver also allowed passengers to board at the back door to avoid the woman, who survived and is recovering at a hospital.
