Wiccans, University of Missouri wants to accommodate you

2/16/2013

In a stunning bid for the crown of ultimate magical party school — move over, Hogwarts — the University of Missouri is trying to accommodate students who celebrate Wiccan holy days. An update to the University’s Guide to Religions: Major Holidays and Suggested Accommodations includes eight Wiccan holidays, something sure to attract the much-desired witches and wizards demographic. The school is also highlighting a lesser-known Hindu festival and Chinese New Year, suggesting professors adjust their testing calendars. Either Missouri has become a major cultural melting pot since the last time we visited or they’re trying to cut down the light bill. [Source]

Editor's note: The story was republished to clarify that the university is not advising faculty to let students skip exams or sleep in on Wiccan holidays.
