University sues student for graduating too quickly
7/6/2012Marcel Pohl graduated in August 2011 with bachelor's and master's degrees from The School of Economics and Management in Essen, Germany, in just 20 months. Impressive, even factoring in the help of two friends who attended overlapping lectures and shared their notes with him — a plan Pohl said the university agreed to. But now, the school is suing Pohl for graduating too quickly. The school said Pohl owes them $3,772 for finishing in three semesters instead of the customary 11, citing a loss of income. Pohl, who now works at a bank, said "When I got the lawsuit, I thought it couldn't be true. Performance is supposed to be worth something."
Is this lawsuit ridiculous?
