UPS latest company to cut off Boy Scout funds over anti-gay policy

11/13/2012

UPS has joined a host of other companies in withholding funding to the Boy Scouts of America over the group's exclusion of gay scouts and leaders from its ranks. The shipping firm gave $150,000 to the organization in 2010 but has decided to suspend any future donations until gays are allowed to participate. UPS said in a statement that the Scouts' stance did not fit with its own non-discrimination policy. As a result, Boy Scouts of America will no longer be eligible for funding. Eagle Scout Zach Wahls has been at the forefront of a campaign pressuring Boy Scout donors to reevaluate their support for the organization. [Source]
