US could welcome first transgender Olympian today
6/21/2012Keelin Godsey will be fighting for a spot on the U.S. Olympic track and field team today in the women's hammer throw. Though he competes as a woman and won 16 all-American awards as a female while a member of the Bates College women's team, Godsey considers himself a man and plans to surgically become one as soon as he finishes up the trials or, if he makes it onto the team, the Olympics in London. If the 28-year-old makes the team, he'll be America's first openly transgendered Olympian. Go get 'em, Keelin.
What do you think of Godsey competing as a woman?
