Boy used U.S. Customs helicopter to ask girl to homecoming

9/19/2012

It was stunt that was almost a flying success. Last Wednesday, a teenage boy in Northern Virginia commissioned a helicopter to ask his lady friend to a homecoming dance. The copter dropped a parachute onto Patriot High’s football field containing a stuffed bulldog and a note asking the girl to be the boy’s date. Sweet, right? Not for officials at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, to whom the copter belonged to and where the boy’s father is a senior official. The agency is steamed at the co-opted copter caper and has launched an investigation and reassigned the pilot. Hope it was worth it, kid. [Source]
