US student becomes viral hit in China for sharing his fries

A simple act of kindness has made one American college student a viral sensation in China. When Jason Loose, 23, decided to share his french fries and have a conversation with a poor elderly woman, he had no idea the photograph of his gesture would lead him to be dubbed "American French Fry Brother" and spark, as one Chinese news website put it, a "heated discussion on morality amongst Chinese netizens." Loose, a senior at Nanjing University, simply said that it was a hot day and her collection bowl was fairly empty and he thought "maybe she could use some food and some company."
