Vagrants may be cellphone-hunting cops in disguise
3/27/2012Drivers illegally using mobile phones behind the wheel in Ontario, Canada now have more than the local black-and-white cop cars to keep an eye out for. Jalopnik reports that sign-holding panhandlers at intersections around Ontario may, in fact, be undercover cops on the lookout for distracted drivers. And entrapment it's not, since the signs the cops are holding aren't exactly misleading. Take the one pictured here, which reads, "Hello, my name is Constable Martell. If you're on your cell phone right now, you are about to get a ticket." Man, even when being tricky, Canadians are surprisingly honest and forthright.
Is this sort of trickery necessary or nefarious?
