This real-life Portal turret doesn’t blame you if you hurt it

For most people, receiving an unexpected package means address labels from a guilt-tripping charity, but not for the employees at Valve. The video game company responsible for "Portal" and "Portal 2" received a mysterious crate from WETA Workshop containing perhaps the most adorable machine ever, a turret from "Portal." In the past WETA Workshop created a sentry gun from another Valve game, "Team Fortress 2," however, this new creation takes the cake (and what a cake it is — it’s so delicious and moist). The turret has the motion-tracking capabilities from the game as well as the endearing little voice that announces “target acquired” when you step into view, or “sleep mode activated” when you leave its visual range. Luckily, the guns have been replaced by flashing lights. On second thought, maybe let’s just build companion cubes. [Source]
