'If you're the pope, I'm Napoleon,' receptionist tells the pope
3/21/2013Newly elected Pope Francis gets called humble for riding the bus and cooking his own meals. The rest of us mortals call that a weekday. Last week, the People's Pope once again demonstrated his common touch by, gasp, making a phone call. This was apparently so unusual that a Vatican receptionist named Andreas who answered the call thought he was being pranked, snapping to his holiness, "Oh, yes? And I'm Napoleon." A patient pontiff explained that it was indeed Papa Francisco on the line and could he please be connected to Adolfo Nicolas, the Superior General of the Jesuit order. A mortified Andreas then apologized profusely. No word on whether the poor guy's been excommunicated from his job, but let's assume the pope has a sense of humor. [Source]
