Verizon still wants their money, even if your house burns down
9/22/2012If you are a Verizon FiOS customer and you notice your house is burning, save the cable boxes first. YouTube user and former FiOS customer Jarrett Seltzer uploaded this video on Friday, detailing how he received a $2,345 bill from Verizon for assorted cable equipment – equipment that had been lost in a devastating home fire. Sure, Verizon needs to recoup some of the money for lost equipment, but can they really claim a set of 6-year old cable boxes is worth more than 2 grand? Seltzer also claims he was billed for two weeks after Verizon was made aware of the fire, and then had to endure an hour-and-a-half-long call with customer service. Best of luck rebuilding from the fire, Jarrett, but might we suggest a new wireless provider?
