'Very nice family' just blew $90M on this NYC penthouse
5/18/2012The New York real estate market is soaring to new heights thanks to the record-breaking sale of a 10,923-square-foot duplex penthouse on the 89th and 90th floors of a still-under-construction skyscraper that will tower over Central Park's southern edge. The unnamed buyer, described as someone "people would recognize" and as having a "very nice family," has agreed to plunk down more than $90 million for the sprawling six-bedroom space in One57, set to be one of New York's tallest residential properties. The deal smashes the $88 million New York digs record set earlier this year like a gilded champagne flute against a diamond-encrusted fireplace.
Can you think of something better to spend $90 million on?
