Daughter's petition seeks cancer-survivor bra from Victoria's Secret

2/4/2013

After receiving a petition with more than 118,000 signatures, Victoria's Secret is contemplating a line of "Survivor Bras" for women who have had mastectomies. The petition was hand-delivered to the company's New York City office by its author Allana Maiden and her mother, Debbie Barrett, who is a breast cancer survivor and Maiden's inspiration. They specifically targeted Victoria's Secret because the company has a history of contributions toward cancer research. Noting that mastectomy bras are generally utilitarian and unattractive, Maiden hopes a dedicated line of designer bras will allow her mother and other breast cancer survivors to "buy a beautiful bra like everyone else." [Source]
