Video reveals the easiest part of wingsuit racing is falling

7/4/2012

Wingsuit enthusiasts have already jumped out of helicopters without parachutes to set dangerous world records, but now they're trying to turn their extreme adrenaline rush into a sport. Behold, wingsuit racing. The premise is simple: The first person across the finish line wins. But getting there is a trip. Watch the video to see five competitors jump out of their plane and jockey for position, all while moving a breathtaking 140 mph, which proves to be the easy part. Once on the ground, those suits make walking difficult and there's a fair bit of pushing and shoving as the divers try to be first across the finish line. We hope this catches on. We can't wait to watch more, from the safety of our couches, of course.
