Video shows chaos inside ER during Joplin tornado
5/22/2012Today marks the first anniversary of the devastating Category 5 tornado that ripped through Joplin, Missouri. St. John's Regional Medical Center was torn apart by the storm, which somehow makes this security camera footage even eerier. This video shows the waiting area in the emergency room, beginning with the "Paranormal Activity"-ish rustling of magazine pages on an end table before escalating into a scene of terrifying destruction. When the storm hit, there were 200 patients in the hospital and 117 employees working. (Six people were killed inside the hospital.) "I can't remember what I was stressing about before May 22," ER nurse Terri Edens recalled. "You learn things just don't matter. It's just better every day."
