Russian nationalist leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky has floated the first major meteor conspiracy theory, declaring that the fiery blast streaking across Russia's skies was NOT a piece of space debris. "It's not meteors falling, it's the test of a new weapon by the Americans," he said. We're not totally convinced by this interesting alternative theory, but we are awed by scenes like this one of shattering windows presumably caused by the speeding object's sonic boom.
