Red Bull heir killed cop with Ferrari and fled, police say

9/3/2012

An heir to Red Bull energy drinks allegedly slammed his Ferrari into a police officer in Thailand early Monday morning, dragging his dead body down the street before fleeing the scene, according to police. Vorayuth Yoovidhya, the 27-year-old grandson of the Red Bull creator, was arrested for a hit-and-run in Bangkok after cops traced streaks of motor oil for several blocks back to his wealthy family's gated estate. The crime had initially been covered up by a low-ranking cop who'd turned in a bogus suspect; however, the city's top police official got involved and was able to uncover the smashed-up sports car at the family compound, officials said. Yoovidhya admitted he was driving the Ferrari but said the police officer cut abruptly in front of him. [Source]
