Racist hashtag offers the worst possible reason to cast your vote
11/7/2012There are many good reasons to vote for your chosen candidate, but a Twitter hashtag that sprang up as people lined up at polling booths around the country offered an especially offensive one. #VoteWhite was appended to a handful of tweets endorsing a certain presidential hopeful — no prizes for correctly guessing which one — either seriously or as an obnoxious joke. Other Tweeps weren't so amused, sternly pointing out that, however you choose to cast your vote, it shouldn't be based on the color of a candidate's skin.
