Big supermarket chains don't always have the right ingredients for exotic dishes. For those recipes, head to the local markets for authentic ethnic food. Some of those foreign products, and plenty of domestic ones, are labeled with pretty shaky English, and you're likely to find strange items, mislabeled food, bizarre concoctions and signs and names that really suffered in the translation. It's half the fun of going to family-run markets.
