Wal-Mart says it plans to hire 20,000 vets a year for next five years
1/15/2013Wal-Mart has announced a plan to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years, a pledge that they hope will ensure that honorably discharged military personnel will "have a place to go." Their plan will go into effect on Memorial Day, appropriately enough, and will offer employment opportunities in Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores, as well as in their distribution centers. "Hiring a veteran can be one of the best decisions any of us can make," Wal-Mart CEO Bill Simon said. "Veterans have a record of performance under pressure … There is a seriousness and sense of purpose that the military instills and we need it today more than ever." [Source]
