Mom and daughter's new iPad turns out to be nothing but notepads
10/13/2012Bobbi Linden, of Sealy, Texas, tried to do a nice thing when she bought her daughter an iPad from a local Wal-Mart, but when they opened the box, they found pads all right — notepads. The two had become the unwitting victims of a crook who purchased the device, stuffed the box with notepads, resealed it and returned it for a refund. After heading back to the store, a manager told them there wasn't anything the store could do as they couldn't be sure Linden didn't pull the stunt herself. It took contacting a local news station which reported the story to Wal-Mart's corporate offices to finally get a new iPad — and an apology. [Source]
