When a Missouri woman returned a $13 book to Wal-Mart, she had to give up her dignity, too. The unidentified woman didn't have a receipt — the book was a gift — so she had to show ID. She had long blond hair in her driver's license pic, but she now has a cropped brown cut after chemotherapy "ravaged her hair." The Wal-Mart staffer quizzed her about her hairstyle until the woman said she'd had cancer. The employee "rolled her eyes" before calling her manager; the two repeatedly questioned the woman about her story, which she verified by showing her mastectomy scars. "It wasn't any of their business," she said. "I just wanted to get the situation over with." Wal-Mart has apologized. [Source]
