Watch as Wal-Mart flash mob turns into flash rob

7/17/2012

A Jacksonville, Fla., Wal-Mart is still picking up the pieces — literally — after a 300-person flash mob crowded into the store. The best flash mobs tend to be elegantly controlled chaos, but this one skipped the choreography and went straight to being out of control. The group of teens, reportedly all from a party that had been broken up, threw food, swiped merchandise and broke a $1,500 anti-shoplifting scanner (we would've OD'ed on irony if they'd stolen it). "They are throwing produce … they are all over the store," one crime analyst said. "You can imagine how fearful the customers were." The craziness was posted on YouTube, which could help Jacksonville law enforcement identify some of the produce-throwing participants. [Source]
